TrackerGPS RD — GPS Vehicle Tracking App

Last updated: 3 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the TrackerGPS RD mobile application (com.trackgps.rd, the “App”) collects, uses, stores and shares information. The App is a GPS fleet- and vehicle-tracking client used by customers of TrackerGPS RD to monitor GPS tracking devices installed in their own vehicles.

In short: The App shows you data from GPS devices you own or are authorised to access. Vehicle location data comes from those hardware devices, not from your phone. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

1. Who we are

TrackerGPS RD operates the tracking service and the App.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information

To use the App you sign in with credentials issued by TrackerGPS RD (username/email and password). We process your account identifier, the devices assigned to your account, your subscription status and your support contact details.

2.2 Vehicle and GPS device data

The core function of the App is to display data transmitted by GPS tracking hardware installed in vehicles linked to your account. This includes location coordinates, speed, ignition state, mileage/odometer, engine hours, trip history, sensor and telemetry values (battery, fuel, temperature, door/wire status where supported), alerts, and geofence events. This data is generated by the tracking device and stored on our servers — not gathered from your phone.

2.3 Data from your device (phone/tablet)

Permission / dataWhy it is used
Location (precise & approximate, incl. background) Show your own position on the map next to your vehicles, centre the map, calculate distance to a vehicle, share your location, and support navigation to a vehicle. Background access is used only when a monitoring feature you enabled (e.g. anti-theft or voice alerts) is running.
Microphone (audio recording) Two-way voice / push-to-talk (PTT) intercom with a supported in-vehicle camera device. Audio is captured only while you hold the talk control and is streamed to the vehicle device; it is not recorded for advertising or profiling.
Photos / media / storage Save snapshots, recorded video clips and exported reports you download from your camera device or account.
Notifications Deliver alerts (theft, wire-cut, over-speed, geofence, subscription reminders).
Biometric / fingerprint Optional local app unlock. Biometric data never leaves your device and is never sent to us.
Foreground service, wake lock, boot completed, battery-optimisation exemption Keep the alert-monitoring service running reliably on Android so alerts still arrive when the App is in the background.
Push token & device info (model, OS version, app version, language) Deliver push notifications and diagnose problems.

2.4 What we do NOT collect

3. How we use information

4. Legal basis

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of the contract with you (providing the tracking service), your consent (permissions such as location, microphone and notifications, which you may withdraw at any time in your device settings), and our legitimate interest in securing and improving the service.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We share information only as needed to run the service:

The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs.

6. Fleet and employer use

If your employer or a fleet operator provides you with an account or has installed a tracking device in a vehicle you drive, that organisation is the controller of the vehicle data and decides who may view it. Questions about why a vehicle is tracked, or who can see it, should be directed to that organisation.

7. Data retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Position history, trip and alert data are retained for the period covered by your subscription plan and applicable legal requirements, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Camera recordings are stored on the in-vehicle device and, if you download or upload them, for the storage period of your plan.

8. Security

Traffic between the App and our tracking servers uses HTTPS. Access is restricted to your authenticated account and the devices assigned to it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for notifying us of any suspected unauthorised access.

9. Your rights and choices

10. Children

The App is intended for business and vehicle-owner use and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

12. Lawful use

You must only track vehicles you own or are legally authorised to track, and you must comply with all applicable laws on tracking, recording and notifying drivers or passengers in your jurisdiction. Using the App to track a person without lawful authority is prohibited.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The revised version will be posted at this address with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
